About Espen Eiborg
Espen Eiborg (born 1968) is a Norwegian contemporary artist known for his powerful explorations of the human condition, especially our insatiable longing for beauty, success, and power. His works blend fantasy and reality, often depicting idealized figures that reflect society’s obsession with perfection.
Eiborg’s artistic journey began in Oslo, where he was early captivated by the interplay of light and shadow. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the New York School of Interior Design with a background in architecture, but his passion for painting led him into New York’s vibrant art scene, where he lived and worked for 12 years.
His technique combines various media such as acrylics, oils, oil pastels, spray paint, tar, and glue, applied with brushes and knives. The result is textured, dynamic works that challenge viewers to distinguish between illusion and reality.
Eiborg’s art has been exhibited internationally in cities such as New York, Paris, Milan, Dublin, and Stockholm. He has attracted a number of prominent collectors and is recognized for his ability to capture contemporary cultural currents through his work.
He is currently based in Oslo, where he continues to create art that revolves around themes of desire, identity, and the blurred lines between reality and dream.
